We often don’t prioritize it, but it’s usually one of the biggest things that sets us up for a great day ahead.
Not enough sleep or not getting quality sleep leaves us feeling low in energy and unmotivated, so this week, set an intention to turn that around!

This is a great base to lots of sauces and dips. Silken tofu, lemon juice, vinegar and salt, everything can be adjusted to personal taste.

Back to feeling not capable. You get up and look in the mirror at this new person and start talking to yourself. You’ve learned through your healthy lifestyle that good, solid, sustainable things take time & focus. You have to try again. Maybe don’t expect so much of yourself? NO. Expect a LOT from yourself, but know that it’s going to take time. Start smaller. You can build from there. You focus on making sure the necessities are taken care of first. But this time, you pray specifically and then approach from a place of power instead of pressure. You wake your kids up early, determined to get them on a similar sleep schedule. BOOM.. it worked?!😧It freaking worked! You make a cleaning schedule of 1 major thing per day so it’s not too much but you also start cleaning the little stuff as you go so things stop piling up. It’s all about NOT being overwhelmed. BOOM! It worked! Hot diggidy dayum! YES! Meals prepped, house clean, kids happier & thriving off of routine, bills paid, at work with time to spare, errands done, and you’ve got extra time?! You feel like you’ve unlocked the door to frickin Narnia! You start dancing your way through the day.. literally. You’re feeling so accomplished, so productive, full of energy, just.. good all over! You’re ready to smash through something else! Okay, it’s gotta be this whole mind thing. You’ve been told to read books and do things for yourself but you’ve been so hyper focused on making sure everything AROUND you is taken care of that you feel GUILTY to the extreme thinking that you’re being selfish by thinking about YOU. 3rd times a charm.. so you tell your negative, rude, down talking thoughts to TAKE A SEAT. You’re calling the shots now. You stumble across a book called UN#@%! YOURSELF. You’ve never read a book. Ew. And to get up early has been a no go since you were a kid. #SleepIsLife So you decide in your new found free time to set a timer and force yourself to read for 10min before bed. You crack it open and your mind is BLOWN. WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?! This book knows you at the deepest darkest levels🤯Something is happening that you can’t explain.THERE. IS. MORE..

Despite promoting veganism on here and sharing the odd animal welfare article on my personal Facebook, I wouldn’t say I’m ‘preachy.’ I do however feel very strongly about veganism, and I would love for everyone to share my passion. I would love everyone to see what I’ve seen and make the decision to not be part of it any more. However, I ate meat and loved it, I ate cheese and loved it. I thought I knew what I needed to know, and was happy to be blissfully ignorant to what I didn’t know.
You won’t find me arguing my case when I receive the odd sly dig from a school mum, or when I’m the butt of many jokes in social situations. I believe what I believe, but I’m not judging others when I’m being judged.
I’m doing my bit, and living my life my way. I’m vegan because I believe in living a life where I can cause the least amount of harm as possible... as little harm to myself, harm to all species, harm to the environment.
Sometimes my sharing information plants little seeds and people make small changes. This is as much as I can hope for. 🙌🏼❤️🌱

That one weekend where I learned I actually need a lot more than that.... black out shades, a fan, a heavy dose of melatonin, and Jesus (although the waffles were crazy good). Truth is we are a family of very high maintenance sleepers and I’m not sure how we got here. 🙈 Anyone else a bit of a diva when it comes to bedtime!?
