when your ego is wounded,
return here, my dear.
remember how largely connected you are!
we are wiser than our body’s years.
find solace in your siblings
smooth rocks and rough bark.
dip yourself in life’s sweetness,
dance in light, dance in dark.
wrap yourself in quiet and peace.
remember your true origin
when worldly troubles won’t cease.
lullaby, so softly so sweet,
go ever-so-softly on your floating feet.
do treat yourself and feast your eyes
on dancing trees and bird-filled skies.
lie on your back and delight in the show,
this isn’t the man-made chase.
close your lids and soak the sun’s glow
with the fervent desire for love and for grace.

Take a chance.
This week a friend guided me to take a chance. ✨
I had an opportunity. It scared the shit out of me. All the doubts, fears, what if I bite off more than I can chew? What if I've made a dreadful mistake? Turn the wrong corner and my sliding door takes me where I shouldn't be?!
She calmly said, let me walk you through this. We'll take one step, then another. Throw your hat in the ring and give it a go. There is nothing that can't be fixed, and nothing you can't handle. Take a chance.
And so I did.
And the moment I did, I felt better. Because you know what? It's always better to have played your hand and lost then to let your life slide by you. To sit in wonder of what might have been.
When you decide to play the game, it may not take you where you thought. All that can happen is you win. Or you win because you lost but had the courage and learned something awesome along the way.
I think an enchanted garden needs a few things:
A mini wildflower "meadow"
Star jasmine draping over the fence scenting the air with its incredible perfume
. And spruce trees.
How I love spruce trees.
So yesterday, I went shopping 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
. (I think I need to buy a tripod because I just have the shakiest hands 🙄)
Oh, but I'm excited 🍄🥰🥰
🖤 A beautiful weekend spent in Norwich, full of history, vibrance & quirky little corners✨
. 🖤 How excited was I to have dropped on the town’s “Makers Market” unexpectedly! ... I took this photo as we were wandering along the cobbled back streets on our way there ... How beautiful is this roof!✨
. 🖤 Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend & have managed to stay safe & sound within the storm! We are on a six hour journey home ... lots of coffee pit stops along the way!✨x

Recipe: Maple Popcorn 🍿(GF, DF)
Felt like popcorn in the midst of our slow and chill long weekend... #hyggelife
🍿1/3 cup pop corn K
🍿1/4 cup maple syrup
🍿2 tbsp avocado oil
🍿1 tbsp hhee (or if vegan, use avocado oil)
🍿sea salt to taste
1. In a medium pot, heat up avocado oil on medium heat. Place four pop corn kernels, a pinch of salt and cover pot with lid.
2. When the four kernels start popping, add the rest of the kernels close lid.
3. Gently shake the pot side ways to coat all the kernels with the heated oil
4. When the kernels start popping, adjust the lid to allow some steam to escape.
5. When all kernels are popped, turn stove off and immediately transfer into a large pot. This pot has to be large enough that you can stir the syrup in later.
6. In a small sauce pan, add ghee, pinch of sea salt and maple syrup and bring to a light boil
4. Using a candy thermomether, cook mixture until it reaches 250F
5. When it reaches 250F, take it off the stove and carefully pour the piping hot mixture into your popcorn.
6. Using a silicon spatula, mix the mixture until popcorn is evenly coated
7. Preheat oven to 270F.
8. Line baking tray with parchment paper, and using the spatula transfer the maple popcorn from its pot to the parchment paper
9. Bake the popcorn in the oven for around 30 to 40 mins folding it occasionally with a spatula so the maple syrup can evenly coat all the pop corn.. Watch oven to ensure it doesnt burn.
10. When its done, let cool and you can now enjoy crispy maple popcorn with no preservatives :) #slowliving #maplepopcorn
You may feel called to do something that no one else around you can understand... but it wouldn't be the first time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We spent the day at the ark encounter yesterday and while it is a part of history I have heard a thousand times. I saw it with the eyes of someone doing what she was created to do. It took Noah over 100 years to build something that would end up saving the human race.
What are you building?

Would you like to know the best thing I have ever done for my hair? I stopped shampooing it... I have been washing it just once per week for years, I have dry hair used to add twice as much conditioner as I ever did shampoo. Having read a few things online I decided to try skipping the shampoo step and go straight to conditioner, it honestly changed my hair life!
It took around 4 weeks where it needed washing before the 7 day mark, but now, it’s so much softer, more controlled, less greasy and it doesn’t knot as much [don’t get me wrong it still needs a good 5 mins of brushing, but before it needed 10+ sometimes.] I just wash it in conditioner just the same way as I would shampoo, I rub it all into my scalp and right down to my ends, massaging it right the way through. Leave it a few minutes then rise it all out again, I add a couple of drops of an organic oil once towel dried, I dry the roots the a hairdryer then leave the ends to dry naturally so it has some movement.
AD | I have recently been using this @get.soaked conditioner, Mike has been using the shampoo and loves how it smells, it’s been brilliant for my hair, and it comes in glass bottles with pouches you send back to @get.soaked for recycling. Head to the link in our bio and select Easy Eco Swaps to read more about it!
I’d love to know if you’d consider ditching the shampoo?
I had an incident which required I do some extensive testing of grungy greens on dk weight. I’ve taken advantage of all these 20g balls to create an amazing #untangledshawl by @dreareneeknits - I seriously can’t wait!
The last hour of sunlight is my favorite time of day in here. Also here is one of three giant monstera plants I told you guys about yesterday that I'm trying to cram in here. It fits, right? Riiiiight? 😂
Thanks to @dominomag for posting our broom cupboard! Here is another view from right after we built it. I think I’ll make a gif of it soon! If you’re interested in how we built it, we have a whole highlight dedicated to it! 😘😘

#ecofashion#simplicity#minimalism#slowliving#slowfashion#consciousliving#secondemain#greenfashion
The sun was visiting today, bringing hope that spring will soon do the same. ✨

How is everyone’s Sunday going?
I have mixed feelings about ours.. my little boy is sick so my overactive brain is full to the brim of worrying about his fever! We had a trip to the doctors which resulted in his calpol kicking in and him running around like his usual self, which made us feel like fakers! Why does that always happen with toddlers!?🙈
However, we’ve spent the majority of Sunday cozied up in the living room with the log burner going, I even managed to get a bit of drawing in but I’m now getting itchy feet having read @javabere gorgeous post on list making.. I think I’m at the point where my mental lists are too long to even begin to put down on paper!! 🤪
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday and let’s smash the week ahead! (to do list or no to do list!) 🖤

Every morning when I walk to the office, I stop to smell these beautiful flowers! It slows me down in the middle of madness morning rush, deep breathing resets my nervous system, and the beauty of the colours and the smell brings a smile to my face.
When focusing on your health and well-being, it’s mostly the little things that count.
coffee shop hues — rusty reds, creamy browns, and grays 🍂🌫☕️ chai and honey cinnamon lattes are the best drinks to sip on, on a wintry morning ✨🕯☁️ i wanted to try out this little exercise! what do the colors brown, green, yellow, and gray remind you of? /////
for me — 🕰 brown reminds me of cozy coffee shops, book pages, wet trees, art museums, stepping into a puddle, cinnamon, rainy autumn days, and warmth.
🌳 green reminds me of open meadows full of wildflowers, car rides through the countryside on a summer afternoon, freshly cut grass, blooming flowers, and foggy forests.
🌞 yellow reminds me of morning sunlight reflected on my room’s walls, golden hour, bright smiles, fairy lights, a candle’s flame, long car rides, daydreams, and sunflowers.
🧦 gray reminds me of stormy skies, rain, quiet winter mornings, comfy pj’s, calmness, reflection, sleepy eyes, messy journals, and bare trees.
