Bittersweet ending to the race season. Finished 20th in the elite heat on Saturday. Came out of the gates hot to try and reach my goal of a top 10 finish, but fell a bit short. I did manage to shave 3 minutes off my time from last year. With this result, I’ll have to race in the Age Group heat next year and prove myself there. Taking some time to recover, then it’s grind time for the 2020 race season. AROO! #Spartan#SpartanRace#CentralFloridaBeast

As hard as your life can get at times you should always look forward to when it gets better, and be prepared for when it gets rough. Sadness and pain is only temporary and so is happiness and satisfaction, but achievement? that stays with you forever. #spartan#spartanrace#spartanbeast

2019 was AMAZING!!!!🏃♂️🤸♂️
What a phenomenal year racing, I feel so very blessed to have been gifted the opportunity to meet so many great new friends and travel the country racing from coast to coast and Hawaii. So many epic moments, this was a monumental year.
Finally organizing all my 2019 medals really inspires and motivates me to keep pushing, 1 podium and several close to races, I'm hungry for more.
Here's to 2019 and all the friends we made, and I cant wait for 2020 to see you all and make some more! 🍻
Just boarded the plane to race again in shorts and a sports bra under the California sun ☀️I’m really excited to finally give @spartantrail a try! It’s weird packing for a @spartan race without obstacles (and not once checking the forecast for the chance of rain in the past week and a half 🌧), but I’m planning on making up for it with a detour to the Santa Monica playground beach (maybe twice).
As much as a weekend trip to the trails without ice under warm sunny skies sounds really nice, my skis are already awaiting amy return in the car ⛷
Change your mindset with food, and change the game!! Try these 5 tips and work on changing YOUR mindset.
🧠 1. Change the wording.
Food is neither good nor bad, but it is either effective or ineffective. So, next time you consume food, ask if it's effective for your goals or ineffective. The choice then becomes more mindful, instead of telling yourself...."I’ve been good all day; I deserve a treat”.
🧠 2. Become aware of your patterns.
You can only change patterns if you’re aware of them. Many of us create rituals that don’t support our well-being, such as eating when we’re bored as opposed to understanding why we’re bored.
Spend some time writing down your behavioral patterns. Then, you can more easily understand if your behavioural patterns are supportive of your goals or hindering them.
🧠 3. Your conscious mind is more powerful than your reptilian brain.
Just because you are hungry, or feel upset doesn’t mean you need to eat. Sometimes signals in the brain get crossed and you’ll hear tired means food, hungry means food, and upset means food. This is the reptilian brain at work. But you also have a neocortex and this is where your consciousness resides. If you pause for a moment and think, this allows time for you to connect with your consciousness to ask, “Is food the right response?” Sometimes it is, but sometimes it isn’t. Hunger can be real or from chronic emotional emptiness.
🧠 4. Perfection is punishment.
Nobody is perfect. We’re not wired to be perfect, and if we expect ourselves to be, we'll fail before we even start. Give yourself permission to eat something for pleasure once in a while. Be KIND to yourself. Enjoy it. Then make sure your next meal is clean and consists of healthy supportive foods.
🧠 5. Know what your next meal will be.
You don’t need to plan your foods for days in advance to be successful. Some people find meal prepping beneficial, but some people don’t. Just knowing what your next meal is will suffice.
Day1 : I nominate @cjdrosa •
Every day, for 10 days, I will share a photo that is running and/or OCR related and one that truly means something to me. •
There will be no explanation to the photo. The photo will clearly show the positive impact that running and OCR has to myself and the wider community. •
I’ll nominate one person each day who then has to nominate someone of their choice. Lets see how long we can keep this going. •
If you have done this already then you may disregard.
#spartanrace una experiencia increíble atravesando 13 largas millas, aunque es rudo cuando pasas la meta solo piensas en la pricima carrera Jacksonville 2020 AROO!!

Fitness update (Nov/Dec): I fell off for a bit in between Dreamstate and Thanksgiving, then had a bad cold 🤧 for a week after so I was out for a complete 2.5 weeks. But then I signed up for my first Spartan Race (beast) in February so now my new training has begun... Lots of upper bod 💪🏼 + cardio 🏃🏻♀️ I surprisingly enjoy cardio (now that I got actual running shoes) and look forward to adding it into my training regiment even after the race 😁! Any tips and tricks on preparing for the Spartan race is highly appreciated! #fitness#fitnessjourney#cardiohoe#spartanrace#fitnesschallenges#fitgoals
#rednosedreindeer • 🦌 Only a trail runner will understand the feeling of when you get home with one hour of daylight left before sunset and the first thought is “Let me go trail run while it’s light out so I don’t have to face the devil road with the even more devil drivers!”.. it was a good day to catch the sunset towards the end of the run while on a hill in the trail 😗
Trying to maintain pace while increasing the distance. Fell behind the target pace in the first couple miles, but I pushed it for the third. I should be well prepared for the first @spartan race of 2020! #spartan#spartanrace#spartanintraining
Abbiamo deciso di regalarvi un po’ di motivazione con qualche mini sfida by hero.

Scroll to the end to see a more epic version of the first picture ;) #spartanrace#spartan#iamspartan#wimpyfire We ran our second Spartan on Sunday and I’m glad to say that we have improved a lot (somehow🤷🏻♂️... we didn’t really practice😂). We knocked off a bunch of time and managed to collectively take second place for our start time!

You could be thinking at the end of 2019 to have BIG intentions for 2020:
✅Take on an obstacle event
✅Play sport or enjoy a hobbie
✅Get involved with kids activity
Here’s the ONE THING I have discovered:
💥You have to build the right FOUNDATIONS to get LONG term results and not worry about if the pressure’s of being physically active is going to hold up on your body💥
Having worked as a coach to 100’s of individuals over 14 years this is what I’ve noticed:
💥 Most people’s bodies just aren’t ready to handle the demands of their physical intention’s 💥
Here are the 4 things that you must focus on; .
2. STRUCTURAL BALANCE
In 2020 start training smarter, be the rockstar mum or dad who can keep up with their kids, build long term results and feel less fragile!

CONNECTION TO CHAOS
My life has been far from simple, to say the least. My connection to this sport comes from the unpredictability of terrain, the unforgiving descents, the breathtaking climbs... as they translate so easily to the way life unfolds chaotically at times. The way we race is a reflection of how we deal with life. •
When something doesn’t go as planned, how do you react in a race? Do you freak out and think “I blew it, my race is over” or do you stay level headed and allow a margin of error, taking all opportunities to gain what you lost? •
In my life, I have developed the ability to remain calm under stress, to accept hardships as they come, and adapt with every changing event, as they are INEVITABLE. You have to train yourself to have the ability to thrive in these circumstances. For every issue that arises, a calm, level head is required to make the best next step. You are simply rolling with the punches. •
Society has a way of making us think life should be perfect and easy. We should all be instagram influencers, money should grow on trees, we should all be sponsored athletes and people should be there to pick us up when we fall down. News flash, shit ain’t perfect and most “sponsored” athletes in this sport work full time jobs. You have to learn to be your own rock, your own motivation, and achieve things that you alone desire. After you have that sense of self, you will find people along side you who help you to be the best version of yourself.
A race is not won in the first quarter mile, with every step, there is a possibility something will not go as planned. Your follow through is what will carry you to that podium. You simply cannot give up on your race, just like you wouldn’t just give up through a hard time in life. •
Find your connection. This is a mental sport just as much as a physical one. Take a look at your best race and your worst one. The difference will probably be your adaptation to circumstance or lack there of...
Words to think about...🤷🏼♀️ How do YOU connect to chaos?

[ Guess where I'll be moving in February ]
Flowing and not forcing 🌙 not letting anything fk with my vibe 😉 .
Here it is guys! I've lived in NY my entire life, but it's time to move on. So I'll be relocating in February. Can anyone guess where I'm going? .
It's 57° in NJ. That is all. Opting Outside today!
What are some big goals you are after this Winter ?
I'm stepping up my training with some @yancycampofficial (link in bio to see why so many RockStar OCR athletes trust his programs) !
I'm also challenging myself to @hyroxworld & @strongnewyork NYC next Sunday, which should REALLY shake things up in the fitness world!! (you can join me and save 10% with code OCR10) . ...As well as finding every CrossFit Competition I can until my next Spartan Race (in April, I think 😭) .
