Marcelino Sana-oy won the first 3 editions of the Cordillera Mountain Marathon in Pulag and the Cordillera Mountain Ultra in Dalupirip. He died in an accident last November, he was also a key member of our team in the last 2 years. ........ Had to postpone my morning bike out plans to meet with Fely Sana-oy, the late Marcelino's wife. Today we turned over to her the funds from so many generous individuals in the mountain biking and trail running communities and even way beyond that to people who did not even know who Marcelino was and only heard of him from our stories.
We raised a total of 92550 Pesos. This fund will allow them to start a new life for their young family that Marcelino left behind. Already she was talking about raising ducks, chickens, or pigs with the funds that you all generously provided and right now they are in the process of building a home for their family in Yapas. Your contributions will all help in the realization of this for all of them.

W1R2 DONE AND DUSTED! 😁🥳 This time I did it in the morning with a buddy all the way over in NZ! The time difference worked perfectly and it's so helpful running "with" a buddy. I also did a little bit of strength training afterwards and I'm just so excited 🏃🏻♀️🙈 oh and I also worked out that there is an actual setting for treadmill/indoor running... whoops, but I'll use it from now on ✅

A few tips for a successful angry run. 1️⃣ For full cathartic release, be sure to keep your form in check. It’s easy to let emotions take over your body mechanics and soon you’ll be doing the Claire Danes ugly-cry technique. First a little quiver, then furrowed brow.. soon you’ll digress to arms flailing, snot running.. no one wants to see that. (At least not before prime-time.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣ it’s okay to have some bitchin’ angry tunes cranked on the AirPods.. but watch out that you’re not singing aloud unawares. There may be profanity on that playlist and no one expects to shield their children’s innocent ears from a chirpy looking runner wearing PINK leggings. If you’re going to make any noise.. channel some Stallone-Rambo unintelligible mumbling dotted with poignancy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣ BREATHE! Whilst running on rage.. it’s easy to hold it until until your lungs feel like busting. Here’s the deal, your muscles demand oxygen, which is carried there in your red blood cells from your lungs. It’s just facts, folks. Runner’s gotta breathe. Exception, Tom Hank’s angry panting yell in Castaway.. he was struggling for O2 as he was also treading water. “WILSOONNNNN!” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 4️⃣ Don’t break stuff while you are on that last furious sprint. Your left big toe is gonna feel that cement gnome you just kicked on mile four. Obvious exception, if like Tommy Wiseau’s Johnny in The Room, you are on your treadmill at home or circling laps around your house.. stopping to yell and sob, throw a tv, sniff a dress, yell and sob some more. Just fed up with the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Who knows! Montane Legends trail 260km 🏆
I feel so so happy after finishing this adventure of a lifetime in a 6th place. Legends Trails is known for its unforgiving terrain in the Belgian Ardens which are not marked. The cut-off time of 65 hours seems easy, but finishing this incredible race was far from easy. Although it felt pretty amazing when crossing the 200km mark for example, knowing that you’re breaking your own distancerecords in such a difficult race.
