Even though summer is coming to an end in Europe I don’t leave the house without SPF
Do you know the differences between the SPFs? Here’s a quick summary:
• chemical SPF - this cream will sink into your skin and absorb the UV rays
• mineral (or physical) SPF - sits on top of your skin and doesn’t let the UVs penetrate into the skin, reflects it instead. It is usually the type of cream that leaves some sort of a white film on your skin, which many people don’t enjoy
Both are effective. I personally use mineral sunscreen because I don’t want the sun rays to enter into the layers of my skin and because it doesn’t clog the pores as much. The main ingredients are ZINK OXIDE and TITANIUM DIOXIDE in mineral sunscreens + I always use SPF 50 even in winter.
I skipped sunscreen for many years and didn’t truly understand the importance of it until 2 years ago. It’s now part of my daily morning routine and I take it quite seriously. @larocheposay & @eauthermaleavenefrance@supergoop are my favorites. Which ones are yours?
Vamos inaugurar a passarela de protetores solares asiáticos musos que vão desfilar por aqui?
Hoje quero falar de um que não é muito conhecido, mas vale muito a menção!
Estou falando do
✨SKIN AQUA Super Moisture Milk✨

I’m a great believer in natural beauty and making the best of what you’ve got; being the best you can be. I have worked in the beauty industry for a long time and I would call myself an ingredient geek. The first thing I do when purchasing a product is look at what’s in it. I demand the best ingredients for my skin and that’s what I want to offer my clients. Clean skincare means no unnecessary chemicals, parabens, phthalates or dyes. They must be sustainable and, most importantly, cruelty free. The brands that I have chosen to work with use ingredients which are ethically sourced and kind to the environment. I am 54 years old and my skin has never felt better. I am proud of the lines on my face, they show that I laugh a lot and am happy. The radiance on my skin shows that I look after it with great skincare and a good diet...inside and out. Be proud of your skin, it’s what protects you so make sure you do the same...

House of M’s Serum is best used prior to your moisturizer. Moisturizers often serve as a barrier to lock in moisture, therefore, putting our serum on afterwards would make it hard for it to properly absorb.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

ive been seeing alot of mejuri on my feed lately and trust me i wish i could afford their beautiful jewelry! a cute alternative ive found is @frasiersterlingjewelry, it has become one of my favorites places to buy jewelry online. Its trendy, cute and affordable! ( they even offer afterpay 😉 )
I have been trying out one of your sunscreens lately: Vichy Ideal Soleil SPF60 anti-shine dry touch lotion. This is a water-resistant, sweat resistant, chemical sunscreen. It has drometrizole trisiloxane (Mexoryl XL) and avobenzone for UVA, along with homosalate, octocrylene, and octisalate for UVB. This a great combination of filters for broad spectrum protection.
This sunscreen is oil free and free of added fragrance. It is intended for oily skin and has some drying alcohols added. This likely will not go over well if you have dry and/or sensitive skin. It actually feels pretty greasy going on, but does dry down to a matte finish and the greasy feeling fades quickly. There is no cast, but I find that this product does clump up a bit around the nose and jaw line.
Unfortunately, this BURNS around the eyes (at least for me)! My eyelids are not sensitive, but this made them red and very dry. With sweating, it did seep down into my eyes and caused horrific tearing and red eyes.
I prefer your Garnier Sunscreen Ombrelle Ultra-Light Face Cream, SPF 60. While this one leaves a bit of a cast due to titanium dioxide, it does not irritate my eyelids or run into the eyes. It too is oil free and free of added fragrance. Unlike Vichy, there are no drying alcohols. This sunscreen has both Mexoryl XL and Mexoryl SX, along with avobenzone and titanium dioxide for broader UVA coverage. This is a better choice all around imo, particularly for sensitive skin.
Here are three brightening acids! This post is heavy on chemistry so if you have any specific questions about what is enzyme tyrosinase, or what chelating means, please let me know! I'm more than happy to answer these questions to help you understand the mechanism of acids better!
Most importantly, never mix too many acids together if you're a beginner to using acids. Too much of any skincare product can cause irritation and will slow down results. It's best to start with one acid and the incorporate other acids in your skincare routine.
It's also important to note that all three exfoliating acids will make your skin sensitive to the sun. So always use lots of sunscreen. And make sure it's over SPF 30.
I hope this post was useful and helped you understand the chemistry behind these ingredients slightly better! :)

Let's talk about antioxidants and free radicals. One of the ways our body ages is through free radicals. A free radical is when a stable molecule loses an electron. When there are more free radicals than antioxidants, there is an imbalance in the body. This happens when we are frequently exposed to UV rays, pollution, stress, poor diet and various other stressors. These free radicals are highly unstable and reactive. They cause irreversible damage to healthy cells and are responsible for fastening the process of aging. This means you will notice wrinkles and saggy skin earlier than others.
So what do we do to ensure we prevent our bodies from free radicals? We take antioxidants. There is WAY more research with ingesting antioxidants than using it topically, but it's still a good idea to use a topical antioxidant. We want to be able to prevent free radical formation in as many ways as possible!
One of the BEST antioxidants with the most amount of research is L-Ascorbic Acid aka Vitamin C. Vitamin C has been shown to fight free radicals by neutralizing them. How do they do this? They do this by donating an electron to the free radical, without becoming a free radical in the process.
Consistent use of antioxidants and an overall healthy lifestyle will reduce the production of excess free radicals.
I hope this post was helpful and informative! Let me know if you have any questions or comments! :)

New #sunscreen empty! This is the MUJI sunscreen lotion SPF 50+ PA++++
This is a combination sunscreen with zinc and octinoxate. It is a very thin consistency and leaves a very minimal white cast. It is not tinted.
When you first put this on it is shiny, but that fades after about 10 minutes or so. It does not pill or ball up, so I imagine this would work well under makeup. It has alcohol in it and while it is not a heavy duty moisturizing vehicle, it also is not drying. It is oil free and has no niacinamide. If you have oily skin or seborrhea/pityrosporum, this is a good one to consider. If you have rosacea/sensitive skin, the alcohol or octinoxate may sting and/or bother your skin.
I really liked this for every day on the go reapplication. I will gladly repurchase. I get it on yesstyle. Introducing the Anti-Aging Pyramid! :) I've created the Beauty Pyramid before. But this one is ONLY focused on anti-aging and ingredients that have shown to be beneficial.
The MOST important anti-aging product is sunscreen. Studies have shown over and over again that UVA rays are known for skin damage because they are able to penetrate into the dermis and degrade collagen and elastin. A broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or above is required to effectively protect your skin from UV rays.
Second is Retinoids. Tretinoin has the MOST evidence for increasing skin cell turnover and stimulating collagen production compared to ANY other topical skincare ingredient. Consistent use of Tretinoin has shown improvement in wrinkles, firmness and overall skin tone and texture.
Hydration using moisturizers is a very important one. A good moisturizer can almost immediately make a difference. Especially ones that contain humectants like Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, Urea, Lactic Acid and occlusives such as Mineral Oil and Jojoba oil. Not to mention, moisturizing helps maintain a healthy skin barrier. And a healthy skin barrier will allow actives to function more effectively.
Renewal can be achieved through chemical exfoliation and antioxidants. Note - The reason I've included this at the top is because acids and antioxidants don't work for everyone, but they are still EXTREMELY important. Studies have shown that acids can help smoothen skin while antioxidants can help fight free radicals. Some of the most effective ingredients in this category are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid and L-Ascorbic Acid.
I hope this pyramid was helpful in figuring out how to start your anti-aging routine! Let me know if you have any questions or comments! :)
