I don’t truly have the words to express the beauty and impact behind these photos and videos but when my daughter told me that she will never forget today, I realized her words expressed enough. Thank you to everyone who made today possible and as always, for refusing to be quiet! #StopTheViolenceMarch

Badass Admiral Blas de Lezo may have had only one leg, one arm and one eye but he helped defeat the English navy from taking Cartagena from this fortress. As the English Admiral vowed to come back Lezo replied: “To come to Cartagena it is necessary that the King of England build another larger square (fleet), because this has only been left to drive coal from Ireland to London.” Modern day translation: “Try 👏🏽me 👏🏽hoe👏🏽” #history#themoreyouknow
Did you know that Rodan + Fields was originally purchased by Estée Lauder in 2003 and was sold at Nordstrom’s? And that it was bought back in 2007 by the doctors that created it and ProactiV so they could relaunch their namesake in a business model that would allow it to reach more people and provide better profit margins for the people that were actually sharing the products and results? #themoreyouknow#lifechangingskincare
This morning, I took part in New York Botanical Garden’s Citizen Science program, and was able to work on the is”Islands in the Sky” project to aid the Appalachian Mountain Club’s researchers investigate species diversity and range, as well as how climate change is effecting their numbers. Such a great opportunity to see herbarium specimens that are over a century old and come together to do our part to help add to this necessary database.
Did you know that Brussel Sprouts are jam packet with health benefits? They are high in fiber, filled with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and even some plant protein! They also help with inflammation and are low in carbs. Pretty impressive vegetable if you ask me.
This week I am having them with colorful carrots and baked chicken thighs. Easy one pan meal, clean and delicious. Just season with olive oil/ghee, garlic powder add salt and pepper, bake at 350 for 20 mins—BAM you’re good to go! 😋💚💚💚

Did you know that the Mayans played a game that consisted of acacia twigs laid in a grid using calcite and obsidian stones where players sat in a thunderstorm and every time lightning struck they would place a stone as fast as they could on the grid with the objective being to connect 4 of their stones in a row before the other player. The turns were taken simultaneously so each player had to act and react at the same time. This helped the children develop their telekinetic abilities and helped weed out the ones who weren’t ready for the next level of the mystery schools. The Mayans knew of the deeper levels of conscious initiation that connecting four could provoke and they were the first civilization in history to play the game. #connectfour#mayanculture#conectingfour#themoreyouknow#sanpedrolalaguna

I have always been curious about the ALICO building commonly seen on the show Fixer Upper. The 22-story building opened in 1911 and is the tallest building in Waco, TX. This office building is owned and operated by American-Amicable Life Insurance Company of Texas (aka ALICO). #themoreyouknow#alico#silobration#40thbirthdaybucketlist
Physarum polycephalum is part of the Myxomycetes family, a class of slime mold. Studies show it can heal itself in two minutes if cut in half and can move up to 4 centimeters an hour without any limbs. It doesn't have a brain, yet it is capable of finding solutions to problems and transmitting the knowledge it learns. 📸: Reuters/Paris Zoo

Das Cake | Pastry Stout w Vanilla Beans, Toasted Coconut & Cacao nibs | 10% ABV
🍻🔮 BrewScore®️🔮🍻: 4.80/5
• Right away, deep black color, ever so slight ruby at edges of glass when I held it up, lasting espresso-like head lingered, then coated edge of glass. Yo. This is so tasty😟, I’m immediately reminded of Tree House’s Double Shot series(which I LOVE), the semi-syrupy viscosity, then mixed dark chocolate notes, sticky lips for sure.🍯👄
• Lasting mouthfeel is where it’s at with this one, the coconut comes out in a delicate confectionary but not cloying way. Pastry AF and some alcohol warmth in the chest, bring on winter🍻🥶 #stoutseason#xulbeer#youretheonlytenisee#coconutstout#germanchocolatecake#germanschocolatecake#themoreyouknow

Tonight I was searching for some #weddingdecor inspo & came across an account that highly suggested using corn stalks as center pieces. Using a clear vase ensures the textures & colors are fully appreciated. Too bad we’re having a spring wedding - I know a gal that could get some cheap 🌽🤪😂 #corn#onbrand#multipurpose#agvocate#themoreyouknow
Nutrition fun fact: Cacao powder is one of the most nutrient dense plant-based superfoods and is known for its high antioxidant value. Not to be mistaken for cocoa powder which has a similar name and is commonly found in dark chocolate bars. In contrast, cacao powder is actually raw and also contains one of the highest amounts of magnesium in the world.
Why is magnesium so important for us? A magnesium deficiency can lead to many health problems, such as, cardiovascular disease, muscle spasms, osteoporosis & mental disorders. In addition, having low magnesium levels is associated with vitamin D deficiency. Magnesium plays such a vital role in the regulation of vitamin D that even supplementing it would not solve the problem.
Magnesium is probably one of if not the most important nutrient for many athletes and bodybuilders due to how it may affects our bone strength, recovery, & performance.

HOW TO GET WATER SPOTS OFF LEATHER: yes, it’s possible! Here’s the story behind this shoe...there was no water spots on it, then I decide to clean the sole, and proceeded to get water on the strap...ensue water stain 🤦🏻♀️
I thought they were ruined, but I remembered this nifty trick!
1. Put a small amount of mild dish soap on a sponge, rub it gently on the water stain (in circular motions).
2. Wipe off with a damp rag (damp is important, any wetter and you’ll just make another stain)
3. Finish it up with a coat of Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam - not 100% necessary, but I felt it helped even out the tone, plus that stuff is awesome ($10 on Amazon!)
4. Let dry COMPLETELY! It takes longer than you’d think!
And that’s it! I haven’t tested this method on a heavily water stained bag or anything, so I’m not sure if it would work on ANY water stain, but it works quite well for small stains. ✨
I hope this was able to help someone on this beautiful Saturday 🥰

Did you know the requirements for becoming a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) are changing? By 2025, this position will require a Ph.D. 🎓
Well....I finally finished 1984 (I am a slow inconsistent reader, but I am trying to be better🤷🏼♀️). That was definitely a depressing read and I am pretty sure this one won’t be much better.
Nevertheless, I am veering off my Top 100 Books of All Time list to read this one I purchased at the National Building Museum. Landon and I went there on a homeschool field trip last year (you need to visit this beautiful building if you’ve never been!). There was an exhibit on eviction which I found pretty startling. It painted a picture of how the cost of putting a roof over your head has skyrocketed disproportionate to income. It portrayed the ugly face of eviction in the U.S. and this book expounds on the topic. Starting this one tonight🤓📚 #bookwormwannabe#educate#themoreyouknow#read#readabook

For people with hearing ability, the important difference between “listen” and “hear” is that listening is deliberate, and hearing is not.
- Hear: sounds come into your ears, whether you want it or not
- Listen: consciously paying attention to what you hear, or intentionally focusing on what you hear. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This nuance is the same between “see” and “watch” // and “touch” and “feel”. One is about exposure to a sensory experience and the other is about intentionally interacting with the sensory experience. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - #themoreyouknow#saturdaysnippet#intentionalliving#listentome#hearme#seemee#watchme#touchme#feelme#listenlinda#seewhatididthere

Would you look at those sticky disks. 👀 Parthenocissus tricuspidata, or #BostonIvy is a flowering plant in the grape family (Vitaceae). It is a deciduous woody vine that can grow over 100 feet tall and produce small dark blue grapes. 🍇
“What-if” thoughts can be beneficial in preparing us for potentially harmful situations. However, if you’ve learned to always approach uncertainty with *fear* rather than *hope*, this can become problematic and hinder you from growth and achieving your goals. .
Chronic “what if” thoughts is a learned cognitive style that can be unlearned. Try to notice when you are engaging in these thoughts and redirect them into more positive ones. By doing this exercise, we can alter our emotional and behavioral responses based on how we are thinking in the present. .
If you feel comfortable sharing, I would love for you to redirect a fear-based “what-if” thought you may be experiencing or have experienced in the past (as shown in the post). If not, I encourage you to try this exercise on your own and observe how you feel ♥️
