#designtiptuesday when I’m styling a bookshelf or a bar cart, I love dropping in a little unexpected mini-framed photo on top of a stack of books or nestled between the coasters. It’s like finding a little hidden treasure when someone comes upon it. It’s also a proven fact that pictures of your family in the home can boost your mood! So go ahead, smile, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere and your family loves you! 😁🥂📸 @tkcunninghamphoto design @bevancompany

Surrounding myself with art soothes my soul, inspires my own creativity and I feel lucky I have so many talented friends.
This piece is by @peachycreaturesart and it’s wonderful. It captures my now 15 year old senior lab on the day of her first walk at thirteen weeks old. I was carrying her here because she was too tired to make it home.
I was fortunate to work with Becky in a design agency back in 2013. I loved working at a design agency; I got heavily involved in directing the creative, pitched to clients, and got a buzz out of having a hand in project managing amazing creative work!
I studied Design, Media, Management at university and was the first person to gain a first class honours degree on this course, and the only person in my year to achieve this. Learning about design whilst studying management, French and also being able to take a practical elective in design at the same time was perfect for me. It gave me such a buzz!
Sometimes in life we meet friends through friends. I have the pleasure of knowing the artist who painted this piece in our home.
I have watched @iamkellyherrick blossom as she has explored her own creativity over the ten or so years we have known each other. Her style has developed, creating beautiful pieces in a variety of media. Kelly’s work is full to the brim with energy, soul and colour; Her authentic view on our world.
What’s even more special is her kindness, her willingness to share her gift, the passion she has for creating. Across the miles we haven’t seen each other often. Recently we video called each other and chatted about our lives, our creativity, our changing desires for life!
This piece adds colour to the hallway; To create a warm, bright welcome. It acts as a reminder that there is beauty in everything; a reminder that there are some genuine, authentic women out there, open to honest conversation, open to supporting each other, through the good, bad and ugly. I feel blessed to call this artist my friend.
@iamkellyherrick it’s framed, home and up! I hope you like my choice of frame and mount 🖼 The ladies at @atherstone_gallery were saying how much they love your work today 🤗 As do I!
Our home doesn’t have a fire 🙁 I know, it’s horrid. Modern house build with no fire or fireplace. Another thing on the list as to why I never wanted to live here. But, ultimatums and falling in love meant I foolishly gave up my home with a large garden and fire in the living room, to move to a postage stamp with Dr P!
I have claimed this corner in the living room, by the radiator. I can often be found under the cosy throw trying to get warm, whilst Dr P and the pooch are too hot!
The cushion is made from a map of the area where I am from in North Derbyshire. I miss home! I miss my family!
When we move it will be to a house with a decent size garden and a living room with a fire!
Hi friends! 👋🙋🏻♀️
I know it’s been awhile but I’m still here!! Had the pleasure of visiting London recently and enjoying an evening cocktail at Harrod’s on the champagne terrace! 🥂 .
Cocktail: I can’t remember the name but I know there was gin and egg whites 🤷🏻♀️ do you need to know more?!
RR Diaries: Our gorgeous founder @mansukhanireshma and client Ramla @nursiley adding and edge to the traditional Karva Chauth look. Would you like to shop shirts similar to this? Comment and let us know 😊
I was 39 when I met my now husband. We both had our own homes, our own furniture and our own style and taste (largely very different!). So we have had to compromise. We have had to mix and match our belongings to get the blend we want, that works for us. It may not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s to our tastes.
You’ve seen glimpses of this shelf before. It represents one area of our home where we have actually agreed on purchases, we actually liked these things - it’s a really rare occurrence!!! This @pete_spowage painting is the first painting we both instantly loved - we both see very different things in it - but we both love it.
Our wedding cake topper now sits in a glass dome. We both love crystal, so my great uncle buying us this piece as a wedding gift was very special to me - he is now the elder in my family. Trinkets from our honeymoon, from our sailing holiday in the Caribbean.
Ceramic pieces by @kyra.cane that keep me connected to my purpose. A reminder to me on a daily basis to never give up, to work for what I want. I have just started creating again. It’s a slow journey full of self doubt, but I am really enjoying the process of creating again.
The green walls were my choice. Something that Philip compromises on, but now loves too.
Life is always about mixing and matching. I am sure there is a lot more compromise to follow too!
Let your decor tell your story! Each piece in this little vignette in my bedroom says something about me: where I've been (the thistle print reminds me of my trip to Scotland), what I love (Wedgwood is my favorite blue and white combo), things I admire (R-MWC is my alma mater), hobbies (DIY boxwood wreath), etc. 💙✨💙✨ What does your decor say about you?

"The power of finding beauty in the humblest things makes home happy and life lovely." - Louisa May Alcott
This is my Spathiphyllum aka Peace Lilly. My dear friend bought it for me some time ago. It goes through phases of looking very happy and healthy, then not. It’s sat on a nest of coffee tables in our living room. I love the shadows it creates on the wall.
Sarah wanted an enchanted forest for her wedding and @sapphireandlace delivered 100% on her centerpieces using gold geometric holders and lanterns filled with moss, gorgeous floral blooms, and fairy lights. They even added some antlers for Nick. Throw in the agate slice table numbers from the @bespoke_and_beloved rental collection and you've got perfection captured by @photosbyaw. Check out the rest of the wedding on the blog. #linkinbio
Mini #topiaries for #tuesday and a throwback to these little gems I made about two years ago. I ended up using them at place settings for a #dinnerparty and recently made some more for a wonderful client.
No Monday blues on this sunny, crisp Columbus Day! The colorful arrangement of pottery and books in this kitchen has to be one of my favorites. The rainbow 🌈 of hues against the all white kitchen is beyond cheerful. Check my stories for some of the fun we got up to this weekend with my boys, including a kaleidoscope of fresh veggies we spotted at a local farm! #allthecolors#marikameyerinteriors
Our home has an eclectic mix of art 🖼 I have collected art all my life. Dr P and I bought these two paintings before we even lived together, from the Pete Spowage Art Gallery in Nottingham. They sat in storage for a few months before I moved in.
I love the colours in this pair of paintings. I am fortunate to know the artist @pete_spowage We have another of his paintings hanging in the living room.
These two paintings are hung in our cloakroom. They really pop out against the teal wall paint.
Asopao de carne de res
Puerto Rican style Beef Stew first time making it in my dutch oven and I love how it came out. Kale is by no means a traditional part of this dish so don’t come for me! 😂 #asopao#puertoricandish#boricua
I’m not a fan of borrowing things. I always keep a note of what people borrow too 😎 People can often forget to return things.
I borrowed some gardening books off of my Mum some time ago. She then went through a decluttering process so told me to keep them.
The picture on the bookcase is of my Mum and I. It’s my Mum who has taught me what I know about gardening and inspired my love of nature. The photograph was taken when we were away together on a walking holiday some years ago.
Learning more about gardening is something that I want to do, especially growing crops in pots.
