Can you relate to this...? 🙋♀️
I was at work today and the question of kids came up with a co-worker. I told them that my partner and I were not going to have kids.
The response I got was “Oh, but you’d be such a good mother! I hope you reconsider.”
I know they were trying to pay me a compliment by saying I’d be a good mother, but it puts me in a rather awkward position. I’m not sure how to respond to it.
Like, sure I’ll go back and have a hard think about something I’ve felt for over 10 years now.
I remember feeling that motherhood was not for me all the way back in MS and HS. I’ve kept an open mind over the years because I wasn’t sure if I’d feel differently at an older age but guess what...I’m 31 now and I still feel the same about it!
AND THAT’S OK. Live your truth.
Sometimes I wish that parents would be more sensitive to this very personal decision when they talk to #childfree people.
In my opinion, it’s really not appropriate to make comments like, “You’ll change your mind when you meet the right one” or “you’re still young; you’ll think differently when you’re older.” It’s rather presumptuous.
Not all women are on the same path to motherhood. Some of us want to wander the world! 😉 ✈️ 🌎 😘

The building was constructed in between 8th and 10th centuries with dravidian architecture in( Pallava style )and is believed to have been used by Buddhists.
