I can’t believe 3 weeks have already passed and I have only 1 week left! I’ve had so many different emotions on this trip from wanting to go home to not ever wanting to go back. But now that my feelings are stable, I’m just grateful I had the opportunity to experience this. I was rarely anxious or felt depressed, I was just focused on me and my surroundings. Even in all the craziness of the cities and taking a motorbike on unknown roads in a foreign country, I’m truly at peace.
I’ve been gone long enough where I recognize what behaviors I was giving into that were not serving me, or others, or my belief that the world is actually good. It was a very LA, American way of thinking. You don’t realize how harmful certain thoughts are or how little they matter until you completely remove yourself and occupy your time with just living and communicating with other humans. Life should be simple, kindness should be simple. Understanding, empathizing, forgiving, and accepting, should always be at the forefront. And this is why I love traveling. These are the reminders and souvenirs I take home with me so I can be a better person. Travel, exercise, meditate, get away, do what it takes to remember what is important in your life so it doesn’t feel so heavy all the time. We all deserve to be happy ❤️
As the sun sets and the day heads towards tomorrow, I bid everyone a good night from the mesalands of New Mexico and The Main Street of America! "Remember the former things, those of long ago." - Isaiah 46:9
Sometimes you want to make the most of a trip, but rest is also important! Don’t be stubborn like me and limp all over Venice with Achilles tendinitis on both feet. 😅 Thankful for Eugene essentially being my human crutch down these stairs. I forced myself to take it easy the next day and already feeling better day by day!
