FACT - ‘Lonely there, betwixt moor and sky,
Where great grey clouds go drifting by,
And the peewit utters her plaintive cry,
The Windy Post stands silently.’ To the north west of Feather Tor stands an ancient and rugged granite cross known as either the Beckamoor Cross or more romantically the Windy Post and Windy Stone. For centuries this lone cross has stood upon the bleak moorland with just the murmuring Grimstone and Sortridge leat for company. Many writers consider that the age of the cross dates back to the sixteenth century and that possibly it replaced a much earlier cross, English Heritage however notes on its Pastscape Record that the cross is of medieval origin and date it to between 1400 and 1499 which tends to buck the trend of all Dartmoor writers. Today the time-worn granite pillar displays the effects of numerous cattle and ponies rubbing up against it which has resulted in a somewhat ‘drunken’ tilt. As with many of Dartmoor’s granite relics the Windy Post proudly wears a multi-coloured coat of lichens which serve to emphasise its rugged texture.
'After the Rain' - Storm Dennis had been raging pretty much all day a couple of weeks ago but towards the end of the day things started to clear up so I got out with the camera and captured this image of Princess Pier in Torquay where a few others people had the same idea to get out for a walk.

FACT - Merrivale (formerly also Merivale) is a locality in western Dartmoor, in the West Devon district of Devon, England. It is best known for the nearby series of Bronze Age megalithic monuments to the south and a former granite quarry. The hamlet, which lies within the civil parish of Whitchurch, is situated at the crossing of the River Walkham on the B3357 (formerly the main Ashburton to Tavistock road), midway between the towns of Princetown and Tavistock. There is an older disused bridge to the north of the modern road. The hamlet is dominated by the spoil tip from the former Merrivale granite quarry (originally known as Tor Quarries), which closed in 1997. The few buildings include houses built originally for quarry workers and the Dartmoor Inn, which sells Merrivale Ale. There was once also a Wesleyan chapel.

Today 23rd is February is men’s day in Russia.
Today both men and women are equal in our country. All are saying today’s women is both strong and independent. But my point of view is different.
In modern world women can take care of herself and and her baby and be independent and solve her challenges by herself but .....
I cannot imagine a world without men because just men take care of women and create a world for her.
Women is women and men is men, I want men to take care of me and I wait for him to come home.
