This was captured 3 days ago in what was probably the last aspen grove to still have leaves in big cottonwood canyon. It took a while this year for the foliage to get going and then it seemed to be gone in a flash. Super happy to see this image before it was gone. Are you ready for winter?
As is my habit I tend to thank the rocks, wind, plants, trees, and creatures as I walk by them on my healing hikes and walks. On one such recent hike, I passed by a particular tree that I grabbed for support as I climbed over the rocks and noticed it had large tumor looking knots all over it. Looking closer, I realized the tree had died. I thanked it for being there for support even after it’s death and continued walking. In sadness for the tree, I turned to look one last time and when I did, I noticed something at its base and amongst its long expired roots. Mushrooms and fungi had started growing around and in it.
It again caught my attention and I snapped this image of one of them growing right along side a root of this tree. Life growing in a place where it could glean whatever there was to gain from the death of the tree. It made me think about old wounds and the past. How often we look back in sadness and only see the cancerous growths that hurt us, while forgetting to see what can take root from things that have long since died. New life is possible, and it grows right out of the deaths we all experience over and over. Life grows out of what is learned and gained in the most tumultuous and difficult parts of learning to love ourselves. So I’m learning to see the past as the opportunity I needed to start new without self-limiting beliefs that were never mine. May you see the same in your life. Namaste 🙏🏼 __

quite literally 7 minutes up the road from my apartment, these bombshells are waiting.
had to do a quick hike this morning before heading to the airport because I’m not sure how much longer the colors will be here. we’ll miss you fall.
What do you see? Endless possibilities.
There’s something really incredible being out of the city and away from the noise. It’s so quiet you almost forget what quiet really sounds like. Took the @redmtnresort challenge hike to Rim Runner trail right on the edge of the Mojave desert and hiked 4.5 miles surrounded by the vast desert and red mountains. Just breathtaking that this is all here and I found a new appreciation for something I never thought could be beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to spend literally focusing on my breathe (because steep hills) and each step (because twisted ankles aren’t cute either).
Loved going for an impromptu mission last night. The weather was perfect and so was the company. Such a wonderful way to experience this area! Thanks @sketchyandylewis@firstname.lastname@example.org for a lovely evening!
Things end, but memories last forever. .
Green River Section C - The biggest fish in the area?!?! (5-6 hours / ~ 11.5 miles)
Section C starts at Little Hole and continues down to Swallow Canyon Ramp or Swinging Bridge. This section is mellow and slow. It is rumored to have bigger fish than Section A or B, but they are hard to catch. Though slow, they recommend this section to those up for a lazy section of river. Swallow Canyon, in particular, is pretty and well worth the time to float.
Camping is allowed in designated sites, but dispersed camping is also allowed. The campsites, for the most part, seemed a bit weedy and overgrown, but do include picnic tables and fire rings. The scenery for camping is better in Section B. This section is slower and may take 4-6 hours to float depending on flows and how much rowing you’re willing to do. One of the nicest looking areas to camp is on river left just before entering Swallow Canyon.
The Swallow Boat ramp is on the left just after leaving the towering walls of Swallow Canyon. I would recommend exiting here, as the float down to Swinging Bridge is very slow and not as interesting as the upper sections.
My baby bro 💕I don’t believe you’re 20.
Nope refuse to admit that you are officially TWO OHHH. 🙈 I still remember vividly the day our parents brought you home from the hospital. One of the best days of my life! 🏥👶🏻👧🏼You’re still my baby bro 💕 and always will be. Happy Birthday 20-year-old! Excited to celebrate with you tonight.🥳🥂🎉 🎊
Candlestick Tower is located on the west side of Island in the Sky on the stretch between Moses and Standing Rock. The Candlestick Tower Overlook provides a great view of the reddish brown butte with a similar size and shape to what you might see a little further south in Monument Valley.
For three years now, my dad has taken me and my sister on a fall camping trip to give us opportunities for outdoor adventures we never had since we weren’t in Boy Scouts. I am so lucky to have someone who puts in effort for me to be able to explore Utah! I hope that all youth who can now join Scouts will have these incredible experiences to explore the world God created. Thank you for the adventures and memories, pops! .
In keeping with the Halloween theme of the month, here's a little shot I captured at Evermore last tear during their launch party! The park is much more creepy this year, so if you're looking for a fun Halloween haunt and adventure, make sure you make it there before the season ends on November 2nd.

We’re back in the country! Jordan was in Seattle for meetings and I went to LA for a doc appointment, quality friend time, and lots of yummy food. But we’re back and watching tons of videos on goats and chickens and preparing the farm for winter. This view never gets old (can you spot Jordan?).

Meet Hondo. He was rescued some years back and was abused previously, so he’s a little hesitant at first but once he warms up to you, he’s so sweet and nuzzles you all day. He’s a great riding horse for kids, whereas Denny is a lot of horse and does better with adult riders. So lucky to spend time with these beauties each day. 🙌🏻🐴 #equinetherapy#horsesofinstagram#farmlife#horses#utah#beautahful#newharmonyutah

Mister yuppie pup is now a farm dog. He’s dusty, has burrs in his hair, rolls in the dirt, and wanders the grounds like he owns it. Time to shave this city dog so his fur doesn’t get so dirty!

We’re here and soon we’ll have a third horse in the barn! There’s something so peaceful about being the company of horses and the idea of having more animals to give life to this property is so exciting. 😊
