Ever feel like you’ve come to the end of your day and all the energy you had to do the things you really wanted to get accomplished is vanished? Let alone time to just relax is all but non-existent. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t struggle feeling this way. BUT there are a few things that I learned along my journey that really helped me to find time as a single dad with a full-time job. If I can do it, I know you can too! I wrote a blog outlining some techniques. Things like free-time hacking, distraction elimination, power naps were all so helpful. Want to know more? So let me start by saying, if you think entrepreneurship is what’s cool and you wanna get in on that action. I’m here to tell you you’re straight up fuggen kidding yourself 🤣
Starting a business isn’t right for everyone. Some suck at it because they underestimated what it mean’t they’d be doing, while others simply thrive more in the workforce.
What I think it comes down to, is that once you consider starting a business, ask yourself:
Are you Reactive or are you Proactive?
Now if you’re thinking, “shit, I probably identify with being reactive…but man, I wanna start my own business so bad”, that’s totally fine 👌
✅ But do you have the commitment to stay on top of the boring stuff? You know. Your taxes, super, GST, insurance, contracts, invoicing
✅ Are you ready to market yourself, put yourself out there to possibly face rejection from client after client, as well as finding more clients after you land a couple great clients?
✅ Can you stick to deadlines and work autonomously without needing to seek praise or validation from anyone but your client and back yourself?
✅ Are you prepared to sacrifice (in moderation) your playstation time, your nights out with the girls and possibly your family time?…as shitty as that last one sounds, that is a reality of it all sometimes.
What about me? Well I grew up watching my dad work as a sole operator. He’d work with the biggest bands and talent like Elton John, Rolling Stones, Coldplay and Prince, through tour production. Now you’d think that’d be a pretty epic life 🤘 The reality? It’s fucking hard work, I saw it first hand. Business is business, no matter what industry. The difference, is if you have the tenacity and proactive nature about you, to get the job done yourself AND be able to enjoy it at the same time.
So I knew what it’d take and luckily I’ve inherited similar traits from my old man. I’m cool with working autonomously and like to be relatively organised. Especially as I’ve never missed a deadline…proud of that one 😉
So if you’re at this stage, starting a business can be right for you IF you’re proactive about it and can form good habits that get you there 💪

- Vous avez besoin d’un site, mais vous ne savez pas par quoi commencer pour structurer ce que vous avez dans la tête ;
- Vous voulez améliorer votre site pour répondre davantage aux attentes de vos utilisateurs ;
- Vous souhaitez refondre votre site entièrement car il ne correspond plus à vos objectifs business ;
Probably, I am not as talanted as Albert to solve a problem in the last 10% of time 😁 But I couldn't agree more that defining the right problem to solve is definitely worth investing significant amount of time.
How much time do you spend on defining a problem to solve and questions to answer for you project? Share in comments ⬇️

I just remembered this illustration that perfectly explains what an MVP is, and especially what an MVP isn’t. 👌🏻 An MVP is a product with just enough features to satisfy customers and provide feedback for future development - it has just enough core features to effectively deploy the product, and no more. •
An important point this illustration is making is that the MVP has to provide Value to the user / otherwise it doesn’t make sense. •
Although the MVP concept has received criticism in the past years, and has been improved through concepts such as the Minimum Awesome Product, I still believe that when used with care, attention, in the right context, it can provide a lot of value and important feedback to build on. When used correctly, it can reduce a lot of wasted time building irrelevant features, it can truly speed up learning and the understanding of how the users relate to and use the product. •
Share your stories with building and launching MVPs and help the community learn! ♥️ •
