My parents got married in a cute little gazebo overlooking the water in Laguna Beach. Whenever I’m in the area I love to stop at that gazebo. Though I was not in attendance at my parents wedding (I came along a few years later) it’s special place.
Why am I telling you all of this? Where you get married will always be a special place of significance for you. I absolutely love incorporating the wedding venue into an invitation suite! Not only do venue illustrations add an artisan feel to your invitations but they will forever be a visual reminder of the place where your journey as husband and wife began!
The gazebo where my parents got married was nothing special but it has great significance to me. To me it represents redemption and commitment held together through Christ. And that why I enjoy revisiting the little gazebo overlooking Laguna Beach.
So where are you getting married? I know you probably spent hours researching the perfect venue for your wedding! In an winery, a county estate, a historic music hall like the one featured here?! #weddingvenue#weddingplanning#venueillustration
⭐️ venue illustrations ⭐️ Oh these are truly my favourite thing to do!! No matter what your venue is, a sweet illustration makes such a gorgeous statement on your stationery and/or a special keepsake just for you! ⭐️ This is a venue right here in Duncan called the Fairbridge Chapel and I was so lucky my giveaway winner is getting married at this super cute spot! ✨ Are you dreaming of a venue illustration for your invites? FYI you don’t have to book a full custom suite with me to get an illustration, I do them as individual orders! ⭐️ I figure you pay a lot for venues these days you may as well have a drawing to commemorate the special day and the special venue you picked! ✨

While there is a lot I love about this gorgeous photo by @jessicamangia_photography, I think what I love most is that every time I look at it it brings me back to the spring I went to Italy. When I look at this I can imagine the warm sunshine of Sorrento and the sweet scents of citrus and saltwater. It may only be 8am where I am, but when I look at this I’m transported back to days spent exploring the Amalfi coast and sipping limoncello spritzes on patios overlooking the water, and to me that’s pretty magical. 🍋

Bespoke invitations // all these storms have had me yearning for some gorgeous Tuscan sun. So instead I’m basking in the terracotta and Cyprus hues of Anna & Ben’s stunning bespoke suite.
We worked together to bring her Tuscan wedding to life and set the tone for the day. I love how it incorporates such personal touches, like their venue on the main invitation, and their favourite bar on the map. It’s little details like this which elevate your invitations from stationery to keepsake.
Thank you @annahiddleston_stylist, it was a dream working with you! And if you need bespoke invitations for your day, get in touch, I’d love to chat.
Order of service booklets make such wonderful keepsakes for your guests, especially if you add a bespoke venue illustration to the cover 😍
If you’re getting married during the first half of 2020, it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about your day stationery. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to discuss the different options available 💌
Drawing houses or cleaning house seems to be the theme this month!⠀
I’m excited for some time off next week to work on the house (hopefully I’ll remember to share in stories!) and let some of these nesting urges out of my system! I remember wanting to organize when I was pregnant with our first born, but this time around it has kept me up at night—dreaming about how to organize the linen closet or fridge! Hahaha⠀
Any tips for organizing before babies? I’ll take all the ideas you have!
Happy Valentine's Day! If I did not already have a valentine locked down (16 years and counting!), I would absolutely be angling to be a third wheel to whatever John and Christian have planned! Since having kids, my Valentine's Day celebrations have grown far more low key. This evening, for example, we will be dining on heart shaped pancakes and the entertainment will most likely be a Disney movie. While I am 100% on board with all that, it will not stop me from living vicariously through my clients.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I know people have mixed feelings about this holiday & I totally understand. I feel like I celebrate love every day, especially because my job allows me to create invitations that represent your love story and “best day ever” 💌💖
So whether you’re admiring flowers from your significant other OR ignoring that this holiday even exists... We can all celebrate that we made it to the weekend! And that’s something 💖
I am all. about. line-drawn venue illustrations this year, especially for save the dates! I’ve been having the best time capturing all the little architectural details of my couples’ beautiful venues, and I love the clean, simple elegance of a monochromatic line drawing. Getting married in 2019 in a beautiful building? You know who to call! ☝🏻
