A little late, but kept my date... with the roads. Don't like training on country roads at night. Lucky to live on a quarter mile block in a very tiny town with lights on all four corners. Monday workout done, bring on Tuesday!
One of the best things about traveling is visiting friends. This trip was a long time coming, and it was amazing... cold and beautiful days walking the city, visiting museums, attractions, Christmas markets, Central Park in the snow, exploring the excitement that is NYC, eating the most amazing food and returning home totally spent, to relax and recover with a bottle of wine, chocolate, and lots of laughter with Flight of the Conchords and shenanigans by Tom. So glad it finally worked out, thanks for hosting, Heather!! 👯♀️🌃🐱
(Haha apparently the only pictures we took together were at the FotC apartment. Oops!)

Era una flor simple, no era de usar pétalos de marca. Aún así me encantó y su palpitar sin sueño por las noches canta. |
Let's get real. Am I the only one that spends more time unrolling this thing verses actually using it?!? Also, why the heck do they smell so bad and lingers on your fingers?
Truth be told, I have no idea if I had the right band. This is the first time I worked out just me. Trying to remember Therapy Goddess stuff. (You should have seen the curtsy lunges) The band was for "big step, little step" side steps. I never put or take off band myself. But I did today.
I had a few good moments today. I got there at 5 but I went. I thought about not going and remembered I need to do it when I don't feel like it too. I did excersises I've never done on my own before.
I even jogged a bit back to my truck.
Week 1 done with a 2.4kg loss. I’d love to hear other people’s stories and things that work for them. I have read every book, watched every program and have decided I’m going to wing it and do what seems to work for me. No counting calories no excessive workouts. I gave fasting a go and I love it, I fast from about 7pm until 12pm the next day. I have swapped sitting down to breakfast to going for my walk. Drinking lots of water is the key I think. I’ll start posting some foods that I am eating and I’d love to see anyone else’s yummy foods that they are cooking up.
For anyone trying to be a healthy version of themselves keep trying with me I know it’s hard and it’s a constant mental game. #keeptrying#thinkaboutyou#healthyeatinghabits#healthyeatingideas#walking#bekindtoyourself
Get in where you fit in! Got that exercise and my steps in when I got home today. I can already feel how good I’m going to sleep tonight. Now time for a little kundalini and a study sesh, cause Moma got goals!
Powerful reminder by @stopchasingpain about why training to be stable on 1 leg makes a whole lotta sense (side note: most of running is spent completely airborne but 100% of your time touching the ground is on 1 leg)
Probably a good idea to assess how well you can stand on one leg
If you suck at it in bare feet you will probably be worse with shoes on, even though it may feel more stable. That’s the rub
Shoes are foot coffins. They kill your feet and sensory input for balance and coordination
You are only as strong and resilient as your most vulnerable leg. Even when you do double leg stance stuff like squats and deadlifts you are beholden to the vulnerable side
Try 2 things:
1. 🔥Stand on one leg shoes off 20-seconds. Can ya do it without movement chaos all over the place?
2. 🔥Standing on one leg take your shoe and sock off one foot and put them back on. Repeat on other side. How did ya do? Got that little assessment from @strengthmatters
If you can’t stand on one leg for 20-seconds you should second guess running. The impact forces in your body won’t be pretty
Just because you can run doesn’t mean you should. You gotta earn the right to run again
Note: No need to bust by ass in the comments about the walking percentage. Everybody always has a different number. The takeaway is: It ain’t 50/50
