One of the best parts of living in the Pacific Northwest is having so many waterfalls, hot springs, the ocean, and the mountains all close enough to each other for day trips. For my last birthday, the girls and I hiked to this waterfall with our pups then stayed overnight in a nearby cabin.
Medical school is tough. It’s demanding of your time and energy. Typical days are 10-12 hours long, taking into account lectures, labs, clinic time, and studying. It’s essential to take time away from school and recharge. Self-care for me often comes in the form of being in nature, exercising, spending time with family, and getting extra rest when I need it.
Self-care is crucial for every busy lifestyle, not just for students. What things do you do to recharge and maintain a healthy life?

This first of my images from my recent trip to Scotland. Winter certainly arrived with a flurry in the Highlands. I had just finished a hike through this whiteout and decided to head down towards a river I knew had some nice trees on its banks. I came across this composition spent a good while trying to get the shutter speed just right to capture the atmosphere of the falling snow. I took this shot handheld, in fact, many of the shots I took on this trip where handheld. I will be starting this series with more intimate images like this, building to some grand mountain vistas later on. Hope you enjoy. I loved this trip.
View my images @fineartamerica ..my hubby and I also take our own photos and post them @fineartamerica ..🤗 #edison#edisonroad#lineman#linewife

San Joaquin River Gorge to this awesome 500 foot cascading waterfall is always full of beautiful views
Where: Sierra National Forest
Distance: About 14 Miles (About 6 miles rt to the falls)
Elevation Range: 1,935′ to 2,387′

Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains
Walking to Wentworth Falls combines moderate exercise with all the best components of being in the heart of the elemental world. With the Blue Mountains creating a dramatic backdrop for the surrounding bush, the low-hanging clouds give the landscape a painterly yet sultry quality that is surpassed only by the majesty of the Wentworth Falls.

I get really anxious when I fly. I hope that if I die in a plane crash there isn’t some celebrity on the the same plane. My mom would call my brother: “Andrew turn on the news Cardi B died.” #yourshotphotographer
Marriage tip: "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." Ephesians 5:31
There could be different meanings to this, but what I would like to say is this: be of one accord with your spouse. It is not always easy, but your marriage will be successful if you two work at it together. Marriage is hard work, but it is also rewarding. Talk things out, work things out, do not go to bed angry with one another, love one another through thick and thin. It will reap many benefits in your marriage. I am not a marriage expert, dear friend, but I am on the front lines with you, learning, living and loving our husbands.
What is one thing you can do today to show love to your spouse?
“Today, continue to nourish your dreams. Hold fast to your vision and do something every day to bring it into manifestation. Everything is possible in God, because God is the infinite Possibility within everything. Know that you are God's Beloved in whom God is pleased. Never giving up on yourself is what it takes to be your own hero.” #MichaelBeckwith
Won’t be long now. Time to get back out there. Wildflower blooms and spring are just around the corner. Mild nights perfect for campfires and laying under a blanket of stars.
One of my goals this year is to meet up more. Bane and I fly solo because it’s easy to bang out a last minute trips but I want to put some effort in to planning upcoming trips in hopes of hanging out with some old friends and making new ones alike.
TN, KY, GA, NC, VA, lets get some stuff on the books! Got anything planned already? Got a free weekend coming up and want to do something? Let me know!
We took advantage of some gorgeous winter weather last weekend and hiked to nearby Bradley Falls. The hike is only about 1.25 miles to the top of the falls, but does require a stream crossing at one point. It was a littleeee chilly this time of year! We’re lucky to have lots of amazing trails near @lakelurecedarhouse. Does anyone have any other favorite nearby hikes? Bonus points if they have waterfalls (they are our FAVE!). We would love to hear about them!
Lost Valley Trail is an amazing hike in the Buffalo River region of Arkansas. This waterfall is coming out of the Natural Bridge section of the trail. Eden Falls (not pictured) is the main attraction. If you are brave and adventurous enough, you can even crawl on hands and knees into Eden Falls Cave at the end of the trail into a room with another waterfall. I’ll post the others over this next week. If you get the chance, I highly recommend this trail!
