How I almost lost my camera (and myself) trying to climb to the top of this waterfall ~
The only way up was a really steep dirt cliff, with a rope hanging down. I accidentally left my camera strap in my car, so I just had to hold the camera normally.
And there I was, dangling from the rope, trying to hoist myself up with only one arm, my limp body flailed hopelessly, while trying to protect my camera and face from the oncoming siege of trees, rocks, and branches.
After many toils and bruised knuckles, I finally made it to the top.
After exploring the hidden paradise at the top of Wainui falls, I had to get back down, and the only way to do that was to use my (already in a lot of pain) hand as a belay device.
I managed to make it back to the bottom, absolutely exhausted, many scratches, and many rope burns. But my camera was in perfect condition, and thats all that really matters 😂🤙🏼

I’ll always fall for the seductive allure of a cascading waterfall in a deep, mossy canyon.
I hope you will too, because I’ve been editing through the hundreds of photos I took in Johnston canyon back in October, and I’ve found quite a few that I really love. And I figure that I can’t only post photos of lonely trees in the grasp of a Denver winter, so I’m gonna mix it up with some moody waterfallage.
Today, while driving home from work, I couldn’t not notice the beauty of the sky. A thousand shades of pink: the clouds, the mountains, the sky itself, everything was a delicate pastel pink. I have rarely seen such a beautiful sky! Too bad not being able to capture that perfect image (I really would like to have a camera directly implanted onto my retina!). Anyway, here a waterfall directly from Iceland! Not directly related with the beautiful sky mentioned above, but still a breathtaking view 🤎

I’m so behind I’ve almost caught up with myself 😂 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can’t stop, won’t stop posting photos from the last few weekends. These hikes have been so much fun, with such amazing and creative people. They are seriously brightening and inspiring what is usually the hardest part of the year for me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks to @adventurephotographerin828 for the this happy photo, while @ryankleiin supplied the blanket, @paceurslf supplied the hat, and they along with @littlehappy_accidents shot, laughed, talked and hiked beside us ✨

Sometimes the waterfall is across a river and you gotta do what you gotta do to make it work😉. From my understanding this is a un-named waterfall, kinda cool.
