“Marissa instantly makes you feel loved, accepted and encouraged to be yourself, and she's right there with you being herself! Anyone who works with her is going to be in awe of what she captures for you!” ✨
BRB JUST CRYING IN THE CLUB 😭
I could write something here about how I make you feel comfortable (which is great) and how that translates in your photos and all that (which is true and so important) BUT! The heart of why I pour myself into this job is just what these two said in their review:
*loved, accepted, and encouraged to be yourself* ✨
Maybe it’s just because I seek that so intensely for me - but man this makes my heart sing. Your photos are powerful memories but your shoot with me is an experience that goes beyond smiling for the camera. It’s a time where I have this amazing opportunity to create a space for love and acceptance. ✨
“There were [times] she would give my fiance and I a moment to just interact on a normal level, or asked us to reflect on feelings for one another - and the genuine emotion and feelings she capture in that moment shine through!”
On your shoot I might ask you to tell your person how much they mean to you. Or to stop and take a moment to breathe in deeply and commit that moment to your memory... to let it sink in. ✨
I do this because so many things fly by in a flash, (especially being engaged) but slowing down and getting to the heart of things is everything. ✨
Your time with me is meaningful, powerful, and my hope is that it inspires even more confidence and joy in both of you. If you haven’t told your person lately why they mean so much to you - go do that today. Beyond just the daily “I love you” ❤️

We have the pleasure of meeting some pretty amazing couples in our line of work and we're always so honoured when they choose us to be a part of their special day!
It's that trust they put in us to create that celebration that they share with those they love most in their lives! That day they spend months dreaming about, planning, talking about and often stressing over!! It is always an absolute JOY meeting our couples, getting to know them and creating a memorable, meaningful and (of course) BEAUTIFUL experience for their wedding.
It was particularly amazing working with these 2 crazy lovebirds! Thank you for inviting us along for the ride! Xx 🥰
In exactly two weeks from tomorrow I’ll be flying back to my beautiful Italia and spending the week in Sorrento... exploring and scouting for several weddings I have there this summer as well as my upcoming workshop there in late August, and hopefully grabbing some dinner to catch up with this beautiful girl while I’m there!! I am E X C I T E D ❤️🇮🇹👜✈️❤️

Once upon a time it was a world full with love. Because there was so much happiness people lift balloons with the surplus of joy for those who needed it. Those who had a sad day or were busy, they just had to watch the morning sky to fill themselves up with optimism.
Coming back to today’s reality, I want to inform you that we arrived in Cappadocia and photographed in their beautiful places. Everything was like a story , which I still feel I am still today apart of. I still think about the morning sky flooded of air balloons, one more beautiful than the other and carrying into the air happy people.
All story in BIO ( link ).
8mm film of one of my favorite couples last year brought to you by the oh so talented Wagner & Co. shot and wedded blissfully at the ever beautiful Holly Farm. @the_holly_farm So people if you’re hunting for video look no further. I just set you up with the link you need. You’re welcome!
I haven’t touched my camera in almost 2 months. I needed that break. I wanted that break. I wanted to see how it felt to not create for awhile. And it was/is both wonderful and horrible at the same time. At first I felt insequential. Like I wasn’t important because nothing new was coming out of me. But the longer I stayed away from the camera the more I was able to let go and just be. I am able to live and enjoy things more. I am more present. And I am able to realize what really makes me happy and get past my burn out. My mind started to stir in new ways. I started picturing poses I’ve never tried before. I longed for the sun and the shadows it made and to see them on faces. Maybe what I really needed was just to get out of the dark cloud that had been hovering for months in the Pacific Northwest. The open road has become my new canvas and has reawakened something inside me that I thought was losing. I am ready to create art again, not just pretty photos. I want to tell stories even more vividly and in depth. All I need now, are some willing subjects to go along with me on this journey.

I searched high and low before finally going to the lumber store to pick up some white oak to build my custom easel! It is a heavy easel built to hold the weight of the frame display plus the museum light attached to the top. I still have some upgrades I want to add to it, like a hook to hold my jacket and ornate vintage brass hardware.
This bride’s details were on point! And the styling by Diane @whitepicketfenceco made them look even better! If this is something you would like for your own wedding, let’s chat about it at your consultation. And on that note, this is a good time to announce that I’m almost completely booked for 2020. So, if you have been considering me to photograph your wedding now is a good time to reach out!

When my husband proposed, he got down on one knee with an empty ring box 😂 he had driven all over LA, hitting every UPS store trying to locate where his ring was. UPS forgot to put his apartment number on the package so they were unable to deliver the ring. They sent it back to a UPS location and had no idea which one. So my poor husband drove around on Friday and Saturday in search of his custom ring.
He debated calling off the proposal because of the lack of ring but my dear old Dad told him I would say yes no matter what and HE WAS RIGHT!! I’ve never cared about the ring so Elan proposed with an empty ring box and I gladly said yes! 😍
P.S. The ring eventually showed up 3 days later and I love it 😉
I love Nashville - it’s by far one of my favorite cities I have visited in the US 🎶 Planning a long weekend sometime this summer and would love to visit a new city domestically ✈️
Where should we go?! Any recommendations?
If you don’t have a dance party with me on a mountain to T Pain then we aren’t doing it right 😂😂
I wish I could have recorded the reaction of the older couple watching this happen for y’all- but instead we will go into hump day just like this..
Some days are good and some days are crazy. Yesterday and today have been crazy. Yesterday started off with Art having a cough and soon after the kids were full blown sick too 😭 On top of that I have to edit almost all day. This house is a madhouse right now 😖 Full of crying and whining, and that’s just me 😜 Really, though, I can’t wait for my babies to be 100% again. I hope your week is off to a better start.

“growing up, we’re taught that in order to achieve our dreams and to be successful we must work hard and hustle. truth; hard work does result in achieving great things but the idea and notion of hustling that is spewed at us through life is the where we get hung up. There’s a difference between being good at your craft or being a master and educator of your craft and knowledge. The most productive (and results-yielding) work I’ve done came from being intentional about my vision...to create more moments of genuine connection, so that people can finally start seeing one another as human beings (not human doings). •
In a world that is inundated with distractions, busy-ness, and addiction to hustling, there is merit in taking a step back and looking at the big picture. What would life be like if you slowed down, just a little? If you took your time waking up, to fully be present when you were with your loved ones, and made your working hours as productive and focused as possible so that you had less of them? •
Sometimes it’s better to take one step back so you can take two steps forward, instead of incrementally plowing through life and being forced to slow down when you inevitably burn out. •
Whether you’re pursuing a career with a company or are an entrepreneur is irrelevant. We hustle too much, and it’s killing our focus and productivity. We are not like the machines we’ve built, and evolution is going to take a while to catch up our biological bodies with the hyper-connected, lighting-speed, automated digital environment that we’ve created. At the end of the day, we’re human, which means we need to eat, pee, sleep, connect, and find fulfillment and meaning in our life. We can’t do that if we are filling every single pocket of time with a task so we can build our empire faster. •
Take your time. Take care of yourself. And, whenever you find yourself rushing through life, take a step back and ask: “Why the rush? What am I actually working towards?” Don’t lose sight of why you’re pouring your life force into your work in the first place; so long as you hold your vision close to your heart, your hard work will always produce instead of distract.” @celinnedacosta
The ceremony space is a sacred one, as well as the first impression for your event. It sets the tone is all kinds of ways for your day and this was no different for S&M’s waterfront wedding! Custom rugs, hand strung florals behind the wedding party, tons of greens of course, and eclectic lanterns made the scene and gave a little taste of the reception to come. How will you incorporate your look into the ceremony?!
