Let me tell you a secret...
You don't need it all. There is a difference between 'need' & want.
The 1st place to start is your budget. Be realistic. It about how much you are willing and comfortable to spend. This information will really help a florist to see what they can reasonably offer you. I will always ask what your budget is. Not because I'm trying to spend it but to ensure that I offer you realistic options. I often hear 'we don't know how much flowers are', I understand that. As a guide 10% of your wedding budget is often banded around. That may be a place to start but it's very subjective. I have a price guide on my website so I would recommend checking potential suppliers to see if they have the same. That may help you to narrow your list on who you want to contact for a chat.
It's a good idea to prioritise your flowers to essentials to ideally what you may like. There are no hard & fast rules but I would suggest:
Bouquets, buttonholes, corsages
Table flowers / ceremony flowers /hair flowers
Additional venue areas / Installations
Cake Table flowers
Table plan flowers
Throw Bouquet / Gift flowers
If your budget allows your 'want' list then great. If not, you can still have an amazing day.
I am very transparent, whether it's your wedding or event I won't try and add extras for the sake of it just to try and up my quote. Also, I give you a breakdown so you know exactly where the money is being spent so its easy for you to see how it would change if you choose to add or take things off.
Bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, hair flowers are yours to keep. Venue / table items can be hired unless you request otherwise.
Ultimately don't over stretch yourself in any area of your wedding / event planning. It's about you and your partner making a commitment to each other and that's the most important thing.
Woah.. today's ceremony calls for a video.. guys, this was a perfect recipe!
Gorgeous music, perfect misty drizzle behind us, moving vows, a tearing up groom and a ceremony fill of laughter and authentic powerful words. This all combined to a incredible experience for the guests, the bride and groom and... for me!!! It was truely such an essence almost spiritual ceremony experience.
What a way to celebrate my 50TH marriage.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Y.. you got me smiling for days!

If you are still stuck between choosing a receiving line or saving time, there’s a good compromise. A fun walkthrough with your guests as an exit doesn’t take as much time and you still have a great moment with everyone. Bubbles are usually welcome at most venues and make for fun photos! 🎉

One of my favorite ways to add a little extra entertainment to your wedding day is a photo booth. It's great for all ages and it's a fun party favor that will last a lifetime.
Do your moms' outfits have to match the bridesmaids colors? Do your dads have to match the groomsmen?

One of our most favorite wedding moments...Throwing of the confetti! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you know the meaning behind this ritual? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Confetti symbolized bestowing prosperity and fertility on the new union, demonstrating the good wishes for the wedding guests.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

WEDDING TIP: No More Planning!
The best way to relax a few days before your wedding is to confirm timings with your wedding planner, vendors and bridal party a few days before hand. Things like: hair and makeup artist arrival time + flower and cake delivery time ect. Meeting with your planner in the beginning of the week will help to sort all of this out. We also recommend no DIYs or actual wedding-prep the day of!
If you want to check the venue or set up, make sure it's the first thing you do so it's out of the way. Have all the cash for any on the day vendors in envelopes ready to go and handed over to a trusted bridal party member such as your chief bridesmaid or best man.
If you already know what you would like to wear along with your #wedding dress, bring it along with you to your consultation. Lingerie, shoes 👠, jewelry; each detail will tie your look together!

I’ve been laid up all week, but there is and end in sight - I’ve got another MRI on Sunday to get me back into an old routine. It’s something I don’t talk about much, let alone indulge in, but the fact is that most of the time I’m in a lot of pain, and most of the time I have to just get on with things. My condition doesn’t stop me doing anything, bar running a Marathon, I suppose, and it never gets in the way of my job, but once in a while I have to clear the decks and just do nothing for a few days. Reset. Reboot.
Last weekend was the @gatestreetbarn1 Winter Wedding Showcase. I met and booked a fair few couples, which also helped me feel ok about taking some time off this week. It’s always been a hard thing for me to do, but I’m getting better at putting myself first, without guilt, and without pressure.
You should try it some time.
