Questioning whether this is all worth it as today is the worst day by a country mile. I thought I was doing well today...clearly not. Too much exercise and my body is giving up on me. Don't know how to remedy it. Things were going so well. Now it's all going wrong.

Before engaging in static stretching, do about five minutes of movement to warm-up the muscles, which can include walking, cycling, or just large dynamic joint movements like arm circles and trunk rotations. The American Council on Exercise suggests stretching each major muscle group and holding each stretch for 15 to 30 seconds. Do not bounce, strain, or hold your breath.

Hip thrusts have always been my favourite version of squats because it really activates the glutes!! Now, you don’t need to really use a barbell with it, it’s just as effective without one!
I’m going to give it a red hot crack and if it doesn’t work for me then at least I can say I tried it.

4 egg whites at room temp
1 Cup granulated sugar
pinch cream of tartar
1/8 tsp almond extract
green gel food coloring
multi color sprinkles
frosting of your choice
Heat oven to 200 degrees. Place egg whites, sugar, and cream of tartar in a bowl of your stand mixer. Place bowl over boiling water on the stove. Whisk vigorously until sugar dissolved and there are no more sugar granules visible. Remove from heat and whisk in extract.
Using the whisk attachment on stand mixer, mix on medium high until egg whites become bright white but still runny. Add in food coloring to the color you want and continue to beat to form stiff peaks.
Place mixture into piping bag with large star tip. Pipe cookies onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mat. Make cookies about 1 inch in width, 2 inches high and place 1 inch apart on baking sheet. Sprinkle with the multi color sprinkles.
Cook for 2 hours. After 2 hours, turn off oven, open door slightly and let sit in oven an additional 2 hours.
Place the star sprinkles on top with a tiny dab of frosting. Serve and enjoy!

HOLIDAY JAMMIES EDITION! 🎄🧸🎁
gena hasn’t changed much 😂🙏🏻🤰🏻but thank goodness i have. 🙌🏻
i’ve lost over 20lbs, 8 inches and feel proud, accomplished and strong af.
in 2016, i was wearing a tight and very fitted size large.
this year? same pajamas (just different pattern) in a cozy size small.
i didn’t do anything crazy or extreme. no wildly intense hour long workouts. no pills or wraps. i didn’t stop eating carbs. i didn’t stop eating dessert. i just kept showing up every day, doing and being my best.
and that doesn’t mean that there weren’t nights of emotional eating (there were), or weeks without workouts (there were) or moments of frustration and disappointment (there were).
but i stuck with it. that’s my secret. that’s how i’ve gotten to where i am today.
the thing is, you probably already know that sticking with good habits will get you to where you want to go. that’s not your problem, right?
it’s that even though you know that sticking with it will get you to where you want to go, that ACTUALLY DOING THAT often feels extremely challenging to near impossible, yes? i know because i’ve been there.
so how did i actually stick with it then? here are 3️⃣ reasons.
1. CONVENIENCE: the fact that i have an online library of workouts that i can do at home and take with me everywhere is everything. how often do you not want to go to the gym because it’s raining or you’re tired? do you have much energy it takes to just hit play on your laptop, phone or tv? a lot less. 🙌🏻
2. COMMUNITY: from day one of my journey, i’ve been in online groups of other women doing these workouts and nutrition plans. i’ve never felt alone. i’ve felt seen and support and accounted for - and it’s helped me stay committed on the days i’ve wanted to throw in the towel. also major accountability with daily check in posts and 1:1 coaching.
3. SIMPLICITY: i love that there are workout programs i can follow from start to finish. there’s no decision fatigue about what workout to do today. i choose a program, i follow it, i complete it, and i feel accomplished af.
THIS is why it’s worked for me. and this is why it can work for you.
