Ugh, sweet Jesus, we are not in the Caribbean anymore. ☹️ But I made the promise to myself that because I do not get to pick and choose my race day weather, I will not be picky about my training weather either! This week is supposed to be strong as we push through to Monumental so after a week of vacation where I ran less than 15 miles, I needed to jump back in strong ...and that starts with the voice in my head! I could have chosen to allow that voice to be negative and whiny. (Let’s face it, that voice can be awfully convincing!!) “It’s cold, it’s rainy, it’s windy, you have laundry to do, you need to get groceries”, etc. But I reminded myself that even though that voice can be convincing, I get to choose whether i listen to the whiny stuff....or block it out with positive, courageous words of confidence! Its not always easy...but it’s a choice we have to make daily!! Buckle down, find your courage, focus on your goals, and put in the work!!
Today’s workout was scheduled for 5, with two interval miles in the middle. But I’m adding in a few bonus miles to get back some lost mileage from last week. Finished out today’s run with three interval miles, and two cooldown miles. Bonus miles count double towards those race day PR’s...so I did not let myself pull out the white flag early! Wet, rainy, and sloshy...but the miles are done! Also, my new @koalaclip was delivered while i was away, so i got to test out the new fabric on the new clip!! The zippered pocket kept my phone completely dry, even though it rained during the entire 50 min of my run!!🤩
Yesterday in NY, it was raining ALL DAY. On top of it raining all day, it’s chilly too.
I will admit, I am someone who is affected by the weather. I need warmth and sun. Yesterday, I had neither.
I tried ALL DAY to lift my spirit and be happy go lucky, but it just wasn’t in the cards. ♦️ ♥️ Even though I felt blah, I still pressed play on my workout, I’ve learned that the most successful people ALWAYS SHOW UP, even when they don’t want to.

I’ve had the MOST chilled out weekend that I’ve had for ages, (I even slept in till 9.20am 😱) and it’s been great.
Lately my schedule has been so crazy, with holidays and trips away, working, studying, parent life and constant sickness in between but I’ve had some amazing opportunities pop up which I’m forever grateful for, but sometimes the best weekends and the best time spent is just chilling at home. Who agrees? 🙋🏼♀️ Although I may be going a little loopy because I don’t think it’s stopped raining for 6 days straight, I have slight cabin fever and if I don’t get sun soon I’ll be vitamin D deficient 🤣 #wheresthesun#countingdowntillsummer .
