Thinking of something extra special?
Love wraps us up in a cycle of laughter, joy, and happiness such that it overflows, leaving no room for darkness to get in. Entering the cycle is a matter of choice. In freedom, we choose to participate in the very life of God, who is love. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The logic of love is GENEROSITY. It gives and gives and gives without mind for the cost. To love is to have faith - faith that our yes to love isn't meaningless. An act of pure love, as it turns out, makes space within us to receive so much more. Not that we give SO THAT we can receive - we just know that we're never left without, that we're never alone, because God IS love, and He is the one who always gives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Love is a great, big, YES. Yes to life and Yes to truth. Yes to mercy and Yes to reconciliation. Yes to courage, no matter where it takes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today is Monday. Let us arise, friends of the universe! Let us rise to our greatest calling and capability as a human being walking on this earth. Today, of all days, let's arise and say Yes.

EDUCATION // How to respond to a disclosure.
Disclosing abuse can be very hard for children and young people. Often they fear there may be consequences or feel it was their fault. Some may either delay telling someone about the abuse for a long time or others may never tell anyone, even if they want to.
Children value being believed and, as the adult, they have chosen to tell, it's vital that you act on what you've been told.
Below you can find some steps to take if a child tells you they've been abused and how you can help keep them safe.
If a child or youth does disclose to you, here are some pointers on how to respond.
- Remain calm and be supportive
- Be an active listener and thank the child for sharing
- Assure the child it is not their fault
- Report to authorities
- Respect the child's privacy
- Take care of yourself
What if.... Your fatigue was just your body asking for rest, not an inconvenience or a need for caffeine.
Your pain was a signal to pause, listen and feel.. a chance to heal rather than messages to block.
Your tension and stiffness was your body not feeling safe and supported.
That anxiety and malaise were guides, suggesting you listen to your gut. Calling for you to trust yourself.
Joy and contentment are valid, and not something to feel guilty or entitled about.. Just because at one point you had to ignore yourself to benefit a culture, a norm, or another... doesn’t mean you have to still.
When we can be mindful of ourselves, the world begins to shift and align to exactly what we need. I’m listening.. are you?
Storage and organization. We as humans have stuff. Stuff needs to go somewhere. This storage unit looks great but also will help with the organization of stuff. As i was requested to keep things as tight as possible, and the walls are not at a perfect 90* angle, each birch shelf was custom fit as not one shelf was the same size/angle. This was a time consuming process. Minimalism comes at a cost. Time is money. The outcome couldn’t have been better IMO. #storage#birch#ikea#shelves#winnipeg#organization#cleanlines
It’s with great sorrow that I am making this post. Yesterday, Cst.Justin Casavant had to put his canine partner, PSD Banner, to rest. Banner was born on 13-05-09 in our WPS #puppy breeding program. Banner was paired with CST. Casavant at 7 weeks of age, and as his supervisor I was fortunate to watch them grow and mature as a team. In 2014, I spent 16 weeks training them, and it was an honour to watch them graduate and hit the street. Over the next 5 years, they became one of the top producing teams in our service. They had some of the highest work ethic and commitment that I had ever seen in a #k9officer . On Monday after his shift, Banner became ill, and upon taking him to the vet, they learned that he had cancer throughout his body and Cst.Casavant made the tough decision to put his partner to rest. It was an honour working with you both. RIP Banner.
A gorgeous 📷 by @rejbrandt of the historic Highgate Apartments (626 Wardlaw Ave.) This building was designed by local architect C. S. Bridgman and was completed in 1913. Ro’s birthday party was so much fun yesterday! Turns out putting off decorating the tree came in handy when figuring out where to put the balloons 🙌🏼. Ev picked out this dress for me to wear (it’s the one she wears for dress up), so I squeezed into it for a pic but it came off right after lol. I also made healthy cupcakes that maybe only two of the kids ate, Rosie was not one of them 😂. This was also the only pic with Rosie smiling, so Ev’s upper lip scratch had to stay (plus her facial expression makes me LOL). But we had a room full of people that love our little girl and we had the best time celebrating her 🎉. Here’s to the wonderful two’s!
P.s. anyone else have kids with December birthdays?? I totally overlooked her party because Christmas is already front and center. I need to have her party right on her birthday next year and hold off on decorating until after so she feels special!
