To live in such an era of political, social, and civil unrest brings forth the troubles of war, criminality, and social conflict. It is, perhaps, one of nature’s greatest gifts that humanity should be able to escape and seek refuge where the only law is upheld by the natural forces of the mountains, seas, and forests.
“The struggle of life is one of our greatest blessings. It makes us patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”
6 months later and I finally sorted our 5000+ photos of #Portugal . Lots of #honeymoon photos to come.

The moon shone like a radiant star, offering its light as a guide through the dark. The night came and it’s shadows danced across the grass and trees like puppets upon the stage, a lunar theater spread out across the world.
The full moon offered some interesting photos the other night. Anyone else enjoy shooting the celestial entities?
Before the Pines 🌲
Weather has been sporadic in VA to say the least. This photo was taken last week amidst a 20 degree day and snowfall. This week we’ve seen highs in the mid 50s and no further signs of snow. Here’s to hoping nature decides to give us another, longer snowfall.
Today's Special Find! Red-Shouldered Hawk
Smaller than a Red Tail Hawk and found in deciduous woodland areas, often near rivers and swamps. They build stick nests in a main crotch of a large tree. Hawks can dive at a speed of at least 120 miles per hour.
We started out the hike with someone throwing up on the drive up, someone tripped in the mud, someone else was just hangry.
But once we started noticing the pretty flowers, the trees, the rivers, and getting to the waterfall we all said how amazing and worth it it all was.
The things that are “worth it” usually take some time, some tears, and some falls.
We may start out nervous, hesitant and doubting, but once we get going we get a little more confident and enjoy it a little more as we go, it may not be as bad as we thought.
And the times when it gets hardest it takes a whole lot of patience, but doable and possible.
But oh it’s worth it.
So hang in there, whatever you may be going through, the prettiest views are worth the hike.

🤩 ¡Menudo espectáculo la ciudad de Toledo! 🤩⠀
Los toledanos podrán estar orgullosos de la capital manchega que descansa a orillas de las aguas del #riotajo , que siguen su curso hasta Lisboa. ¡Impresionante la fortificación de la cima! 🤔 ¿Sabes cómo se llama? 🤔⠀
📍 Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha⠀
😍 Saca una foto así desde el #puentesanmartin ⠀
⭐ La Ciudad de las Tres Culturas⠀
🇬🇧 What a light show! 🌃⠀
Toledo can be proud of this view! The capital of Castilla-La Mancha is located on the banks of the Tagus River, which stretches all the way to Lisbon 🇵🇹 But what really might draw your attention is the fortress at the top! 🏰 Do you know its name? 🏰⠀
