Day 130: 32km
Sarah made us amazing vegan pancakes before we set out on the road. We said goodbye to her beautiful children and headed west. We rode alongside a terrible highway, but the best part of the day was when Carrie-Anne met us. She has a seeing-eye dog from the states, and it was amazing to talk to her and hear her story. She told us of her difficulties before having Ziggy, and how he gave her her life back. Something that she said that really stood out was “it took loosing my eyesight to see how people really are”. She said it can be dehumanizing walking around with a white cane, always looking at the ground. Having Ziggy, she can walk down the street with confidence. She even told us Ziggy stopped her from getting hit by traffic on multiple occasions. Carrie-Anne was so passionate talking to us, grateful and inspired by what we were doing. But we are inspired by her. By her thrive for life and ability to adapt to the difficulties that come with losing her vision. It’s amazing to see her bond with Ziggy, and how when we work together with animals, we can accomplish a lot, and change each others life. -K
Welding up another piece of fitness equipment. A seated dip! Got a good start on the frame, need to pickup some more material and paint and hope to have it finished this weekend. #migwelding#fabrication

Selling our birds. We have made the (tough) decision to sell both of our laying flocks in order to simplify and streamline our farm. One flock has 40 production layers that are about 9 months old, the other flock is my prized rainbow breeding flock of 30 hens, 10 pullets, and three roosters. The rainbow operation will come with the chickshaw, poultry netting, and solar fencer. All birds have been free ranging and fed organic feed. Both are listed on Craigslist and Kijiji or we can send direct links. Someday (hopefully soon) I will have chickens again ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The last flower subscription went out the door yesterday, a bittersweet moment. Thanks to everyone who gushed over the weekly and biweekly bouquets!
Hopefully growing will be more successful next year so we can have some more spots available!

Guys! We finally bought a house! 🙌🏼 This is the cute backyard studio which will eventually be home to @companiongoods.
P.S. I don't recommend buying a house/selling your house all in the week before going on holidays 😵😅
